I arrived last night and I'm staying in Montmartre near the Sacre Coeur cathedral. I've been trying to use my French (what little there is) but everyone at the hostel speaks English...
My room (with a view) at the hostel in Montmartre
I watched the sunset over Paris from the steps below the Sacre Coeur last night.
Then I decided to do a little reinactment of my whirlwind 1998 tour of Paris so... I wandered through the busy streets of Paris, through the plaza of the Hotel de Ville (where we watched the 98 World Cup soccer games on the big screen), walked past Notre Dame, along the Seine, and then I headed past the Louvre over to the Champs d'Elysees...
I didn't walk all the way to the Arc though, instead I headed up to the red light district - yikes!
Back to the hostel and in bed by 2 am... not a bad first night. ;)
I'm catching a train and heading down to the Pyrenees tomorrow!

Hi Brad and thanks for the update. You look pretty happy and excited in your picture looking out your room; but I'm not sure of your last adventure getting home at 2 am.
We are fine Robert's first day at school. Great warm day today. Love Mom
